Gyeongju
Home | South Korea | Gyeongju
Gyeongju is a major tourist destination in eastern South Korea, due to the city's status as a center of Silla heritage. Many Silla sites are located in Gyeongju National Park. These include the Royal Tomb Complex, the Cheomseongdae observatory, the Anapji pond, and the Gyerim forest. The Gyeongju National Museum hosts many artifacts from the Silla kingdom. The grotto of Seokguram and the temple of Bulguksa were the first Korean sites to be included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, in 1995. In addition, the ruins of the old Hwangnyongsa temple, said to have been Korean's largest, are preserved on the slopes of Toham Mountain. Various Silla-era stone carvings of Buddhas and bodhisattvas are found on mountainsides throughout the city, particularly on Namsan.

* Sample prices are per person, based on double occupancy, and are dynamic in nature. Prices do not include air taxes, insurance, or delivery charges. The airfare portion of the itinerary price is based on economy class, midweek departure. Air taxes and surcharges vary by airports used and destination. The airfare portion of the itinerary price is subject to additional charges, including, without limitation: the September 11th Security Fee of $2.50 for each flight segment, with a maximum of up to $5 per one-way or $10 per roundtrip; Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18, depending on itinerary; Federal Segment Fees of $ 3.40 per segment; airline-imposed fuel surcharges; airport taxes and other government-imposed fees depending on routing and destination (foreign or domestic). Most airlines place a fuel surcharge to their taxes instead of to their fares. All these taxes and fees can add up to $450 to the fare. A segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing. Prices were accurate at the time we posted them. Sample prices were for a specific travel date and specific departure airport, as indicated. Your prices will vary according to departure cities and travel dates. We do not control prices (airlines and hotel reservation systems do). Prices may change dynamically and at times significantly numerous times during any given day.
